Background / History
Oh! My nappy hair, the salon became the brainchild of founder Rosario Schuler after she discovered a niche in providing
natural (non-chemical) hair care services. "This is the hair that God gave us", she said.
"A qualified beautician should know how to deal with all textures of black hair." Rosario explained that black hair varies
from extremely curly to straight textures, but she discovered there was no one accommodating these circumstances under the
same roof. Thus, Oh! my nappy hair salon was born!

Owners' Bios
Rosario Schuler, a wife and mother of 3, has paid many dues. Before founding OMNH, Rosario
studied stage directing at UC Berkeley and received a BA degree in TV broadcasting from Cal State Long Beach. After working
in her field of degree with notable stations, she "flipped the script." Entrepreneurship is the song of her soul, one may
conclude, after hearing the list of business ventures Rosario attempts.
Rosario's
list of business' include a T-shirt Co., employment agency, two balloon companies and her most grandiose endeavor yet, Oh!
my nappy hair salon Inc. Some of her other credentials include being an actress, stand-up comedian, chairperson of the National
Association of Balloon Artists and chairperson of the Laney College Cosmetologist Dept. Advisory Board.
Erica Blevins is on the road of high achievement as well. She graduates from Clark Atlanta University
in 1995 with a B.S. degree in Biology and a certification in secondary education. This is just an interim for the daughter
of the OMNH founder, Rosario Schuler, who is all too familiar with being an entrepreneur. Before the pursuit of her
college degree, Erica is involved with much of the success of the family's businesses.
In 1986, Erica receives award
and grant from Oakland Youth Entrepreneur Program (OYEP) after the successful completion of an extensive business plan for
the balloon co. She works side by side with mother Rosario, while involved in other programs, such as Junior Achievement (JA)
and the Math, Engineer and Science Achievement Program (MESA). The interest in broadening her horizons leads her to
Atlanta, GA but eventually she returns to join forces with her mother in her latest endeavor. She proudly proceeds forward,
with the bright future of OMNH Inc. sparkling in her eyes.
